Headed Home... Temporarily

All good things must come to an end… at least for a short time. It was a great trip. I am now a giant fan of the Balkan and look forward to spending years exploring the entire region. Time to take a quick look back at the past month, things I will miss… Click on the photo to see some additional pics…

The Rest of the Day... Novi Sad, Serbia!

Sorry I couldn’t stay awake yesterday to finish our adventure in Novi Sad! Today starts with the continuation of our time at the fortress. Stunning! Then adventuring in City Centre. The above photo was a 5 hundred billion dollar bill that Mihajlo carries around to remind himself of the days of extreme inflation brought on by their time under Communism. He explained that the system looked good on paper… and probably served his parents better. But it failed because there was no incentive for anyone to work… so the economy collapsed. Fascinating information… Click the photo to see the beauty of Novi Sad.

Novi Sad, Serbia

Driving a short hour out of Belgrade, we visited Novi Sad. Second largest city in Serbia, the vibe in this town is much different. Slow paced, unique and with younger architecture, this area completely captured us! Click on the photo to see Novi Sad and our journey getting there…

Sunshine in Belgrade!

Nice day checking out neighborhoods we missed… and going back to Barry’s favorite… I’m sure I’ve mentioned that I am allowed one “click” of the camera with the husband. If it comes out blurry, too bad. Today, it came out blurry… and I took it sitting at the table without any view. Can’t believe I wasted my ONE per day!!! Click on the photo to see how our day went!

Historical Nis, Serbia

Visiting the city of Nis, was a sobering experience. Join us as we explore the Red Cross Nazi Concentration Camp, Bubanj Memorial Park, Skull Tower (photo above), Nis Fortress and King Milan Square. Quite a day! Click on the photo to learn more about this fascinating city…

Eating and More Eating in Belgrade

Sporting my new Nikola Tesla t-shirt, gifted to me by Tanja and Marina’s mom (so sweet!!!!), we spent the entire day eating… or napping… After days of walking and exploring, we just wanted a do-nothing day! Still managing to walk almost four miles, click on the photo to where we went…

Visiting New Belgrade...

With photos organized and fingers on the keyboard, I prepared to create this post… and that’s the last thing I remember! Apparently, exhaustion won the battle and I fell into the deepest of sleeps (at 8pm!!!). Now, fully rested, it’s time to recap yesterday! Click on the photo (or title) to check out our special day.

Fall Is In The Air... Belgrade, Serbia

Another fun day! We are exhausted… had a very early dinner and are safely tucked in our apartment. So cozy and the view that never gets old. Can you see how tired I look? Had a bit of a flare up yesterday/last night. Therefore, we took it slow-ish. Join us on our journey to Saint Sava, Kalenic Pijaca and dinner. Click on the photo (or title) to see the Serbian sights!
