Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Up early… well… not exactly early… anyway, we got up. Went to the trough for a small bite to eat after our Bailey’s and coffee. On the way out, we saw the culinary employees preparing the Halloween cupcakes. A variety of decoration made these desserts very festive!

Despite being a sea day, there was room everywhere! We were able to enjoy four side-by-side pods. Since I really can’t be in the sun much, it was the perfect way to hang out with everyone and still have shade.

While in Long Beach, Michael and Linda walked to a CVS down the road. Kind of a far way down the road. They asked if we wanted anything… jokingly (not jokingly), I asked for an Almond Joy. It was accidentally forgotten… so the next morning, they went back to the store and apparently stocked up on my favorite candy bar. Every afternoon, they pull out a candy for me to enjoy! Love it!!!

Up on the top, we had a fun little mini-golf course. Great view of the ocean and made easy for children….

Mini golf can be quite challenging… as seen here. When the opening to the hole is only four feet wide, it makes it diffucult. Roxanne did her very best to get the golf ball through the rectangular space. Determined, this great golfer never gave up!

Freddie Mercury arrived in his typical flamboyant style. The cruise employee running the trivia game, recognized him right off the bat!

Two of the three flappers, were dressed and ready to go! The ship creates a very festive holiday. There was a parade through the promenade deck. Johann, the cruise director, said over 700 people participated in the parade. All night long, the party moved from place to place. It was good fun!

Adding to our perfect day, a stunning sunset! Ending the day with bursts of color!

Jenn and her Mom, Phyllis, came ready for fun! We all met at Schooner bar and walked upstairs to Izumi’s for sushi.

Dinner at Izumi’s was so delicious! My order was a seaweed salad (which I loved!), a champagne lobster roll and a poke bowl. There were little surprises in my bowl… huge chunks of wasabi were hiding. Two times, I took a bite that was pure heat! My eyes were watering! Sinuses cleared out. Whew! On the right hand photo, Phyllis started talking to a lady at the table next to us. She was dining alone… before we knew it, Connie (our new friend) joined us at our table.

Full bellies… off to the parties we go! Corey never got a costume together. Jenn happened to bring lots of little goodies. So, Corey got to spend the night as a banana!

Our resident boxer, Michael, was the Russian from Rocky IV. I think his name is Ivan Drago. He didn’t wear his costume to dinner because he thought it proper to have a shirt on. Going topless in the specialty restaraunt is frowned upon.

Neil… oops, I mean Freddie Mercury… decided to join in the parade. All the costumed cruisers met in the Star Lounge. Johann, our cruise director said that over 700 guests dressed up and participated in the parade.

Linda, Jenn and Michael also joined in the fun. It’s something I usually do, but decided to take pictures this time!

We hung out at Playmakers for a little bit longer. Next stop, back to Schooner. It ended up being our favorite spot. The bartender, Sharon, knew all of our names within minutes. If I walked by the bar, she would tell me which of our group she’’d seen recently and which way they were going. Very impressive! Incredible customer service!

This group, such a mixture… we sincerly enjoyed each other’s company. It was one of those times when just the right people were there. We had such a mixture of personalities but they just meshed. No moods, no drama… just fun!

Somewhere along the way, Neil AKA Freddie Mercury… AKA Fernando Mercury… turned into Batman Mercury. Someoe left he mask on a table. We tried to find the owner but no one claimed it. So… it because Neil’s new persona. At this late hour, he reminded me of the loney banana… just sitting by himself, looking like the lonely guy. So funny. What a great night!
