Let's Try This AGAIN! Melbourne, Australia

Let's Try This AGAIN! Melbourne, Australia

After the coffee shop I posted about in the last one before completely losing internet (not sure if this will work any better!)… we headed to the Marketplace. This outdoor but covered market had just about everything you could imagine… clothes, food, jewelry, personalized dog tags, hats, scarves, luggage,..

The marketplace even had a recycle booth for any type of ball… tennis balls, golf balls, bouncy balls, wiffle balls. Colorful and unusual…

Fun city with so many historical buildings nestled next to new modern high rises! Kind of “dueling eras”. Melbourne is the capital and largest city in the state of Victoria. There’s definitely enough to do in this town to keep you busy. Would have enjoyed more than a quick port stop…

Seems most cities have their fair share of talented street artists. The colorful murals always catch my eye! This was had so much of my favorite color (purple) that I had to stop and take a quick picture!

Hmmm… should we dine at the Sopranos restaurant? After watching the series, I have to admit this drew me in. But we picked another place because Italian food is difficult with my restricted diet!

Instead of Soprano’s, we found a cute restaurant in the business district called Trunk. It had indoor and outdoor seating. Barry tried a local beer, I tried a local wine. My entree was PERFECT! Beans, beets, lettuce, corn, quinoa, avocado and a delicious light dressing. Nice break before we worked on finding our way back to the ship!

There’s our ship… waiting for us! Many passengers are expected to get off today and many of those planning to board, won’t. Not going to Singapore has left so many with plans to make. The majority of passengers are from Australia so they have a better idea of logistics than we do. The ship holds 3,560 guests and 1,346 crew members.

Once back on the Majestic Princess, we realized MANY got off the ship! The main dining room had numerous empty tables and waitstaff remained in their stations just in case someone showed up. It soon became clear, there would be no need to keep all the main dining rooms open. Tomorrow is another day… we will have to work a little harder at coming up with a plan. We are beginning to understand how big this country is! The longer we sail, the farther from a major airport for us. Think, think, think!
