Moonlanding.jpg

This is my first impression of Pisco, Peru... Mojave Desert-ish! Barren land for miles and miles. It was not at all what I expect a port town to look like. Ordinarily, it is very lush because of the proximity to water. Not Pisco...

MotorcycleShop.jpg

The shuttle drove past sand, sand, sand until we arrived at a cute little town. It seemed to be created for tourists. As soon as we got off the shuttle, we came upon this vendor. Barry noticed his vehicle immediately. He used a motorcycle as the base and added the cart for selling his fruit. Very clever!

Boardwalk.jpg

A brick boardwalk created a nice walkway along the boat harbor. Restaurants and trinket shops bordered the walkway.

Birdman.jpg

Though I would have loved to have my picture taken with this bird, I had a sketchy experience years ago, so I passed. Once in St. Thomas, a guy with a mule asked if I wanted my picture taken sitting on the mule. I said okay. He took the photo and then charged me to get my camera back... I thought this guy might do that so I slyly took his photo as I walked by :-)

Market.jpg

So many little booths... there were hats and scarves, carved items and shawls. All we wanted was a shotglass. It was fun looking at everything. I love when the booths are colorful like these were!

PiscoStore.JPG

We couldn't leave Peru without buying Pisco! They were unable to do a credit card because the systems were down. Off to the ATM we went... calculating how much we'd need in Peruvian money. We took out enough for 3 bottles and lunch. Our calculations were spot on. This was a fun little shop that will allow you to taste different types to help make your decision.

Flowers.jpg

As I said... I can't walk by flowers without snapping a shot! This happens to be my favorite color. So vibrant!

Children.jpg

It was fun seeing these children playing on the beach. The colorful boats in the harbor added to the scene.

adultbeverage.jpg

It was time... we walked, shopped and explored. Now it was time for an adult beverage. Silly me, I didn't get the name of the restaurant! It was relaxing to people watch with the ocean in the background.

Lunch.jpg

Barry had pizza and I had this delicious meal... seafood stuffed avocado! It was amazing. More seafood than I expected. The dressing was sort of an asian style. I was FULL when I finished! After lunch, we headed back to the ship. We didn't want to miss meeting up with Tom and  Jess in the Captain's Club!
