Boarding Day!

Boarding Day!

Minutes before we arrived, Neil and Corey got to the port. They smoothly got through security and it was the start of vacation! We left our car at the Hyatt and took an Uber. The boys drove straight to the pier and parked right at the ship. It’s very convenient and about $17/day.

So far… six of us onboard. It was time to start taking advantage of the beverage package. Specialty coffees, waters, juices and cocktails, all inclluded. The weather was amazing! Perfect start to four days of Halloween shenanigans!

This is so fun… so, standing at the bar, a costumed person walks by. He was difficult to ignore because he was playing a blind flasher and his cane kept bumping me. At one point in his repeated passing back and forth… he stopped, turned and said, “I think you were my dealer”. Not going to lie… kind of freaked me out! Then he said, “Cocaine dealer” so I figured it was a coincidence that he said dealer. Next words out of his mouth… “in Tahoe”… once again I got a little creeped out. Took me awhile but it was our bartender Kirby who we saw at the airport! He was surprising Roxanne! So I called Roxie and told her I had a drink waiting for her… I have to get the video from Neil but what a classic response! I’ll post it tomorrow! She was stunned!

Espresso martini… the drink of the day! We ordered them before heading up to the room to decorate. Schooner Bar is such a fun spot. Piano entertainment, best bartenders!

My usual cruise routine is to board the ship, head up by the pool to start vacation. Then, when we are allowed to our cabins, I pull out my season appropriate decorations and get to work. Of course, the theme for this four-day is Halloween. I brought bats, spiders, bloody hands and feet, swirly decorations to hange from the ceiling, cob webs and a skeleton. Oh… and can’t forget the pumpkins.

Laughter started the moment we gathered. Sometimes the more random the group, the more special. Each and every one who made the effort to join in, will surely agree with me that we are so different… work together in different positions but it all came together in an amazing way!

Next stop, Playmakers. It’s a fun sports bar with snack food and cocktails. Nice, quiet little spot. On boarding day, people tend to pile into certain locations. It seems crazy crowded. But it only takes a little bit for everyone to find their niche. We all spread out, find our favorite waiters/bartenders and it suddenly seems less crowded. It can seem overwhelming at first…

Awesome decorations could be found all around the ship. Several cabins had decorated doors (none as good as ours). This Halloween display wins the prize!!!

Dinner on Night One… Chop’s Grill or as Roxanne says, “Chop House”. Either way, it’s the steak house. What a fantastic dinner! I had a ribeye, cooked to perfection. The waiter brought “family style” side dishes, extra shrimp cocktail and we all had our drinks. Roxanne and I had a bottle of Belle Glos, which we shared a bit. Talking, laughter and eating. Perfect first night! But there was more…

Late night at the “club”. After hours, Viking Lounge turns into an adults only nightclub. Dancing music, fun bartenders and our crazy group!

We all made it up to the top floor. Oh wait, maybe Phyllis didn’t… one out of nine is pretty good. It was the longest but most fun first day! Very eventful!

Yes… we were little camera hogs. Pictures are fun to look at later!

… and yes, we did drink water! Something I am not accustomed to as a breatharian. Proud of me?

Definitely having fun! We got to sing, dance… share stories and enjoy each other’s company.

All good things must come to an end. This day, has been full of fun but tomorrow is another day. Halloween should be exciting! Can’t wait! Night night!!!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
