Train Ride... Then Evening Fun
We woke up with a plan to continue roaming Paris but Jeremy said he had Versailles on his mind. So, we checked out the cost of a train ticket (cheap!) and purchased two seats. The ride was quick and scenic. First off the train, we entered this cute, little town. Old style architecture, plazas with flowers, statues and ... a church in the distance. We found an outdoor marketplace where I bought a nice jacket.
Heading toward the famous Versailles, we found we should have decided sooner that we wanted to visit this tourists favorite! There were no tickets... and even if there were, the lines were hours long! But the building was beautiful! We were glad we made the trip but will have to visit at another time.
By the time we got back to Paris, it was dark. We headed out for a little walk... first we came upon a rack of bikes! Sure would love to be riding one of these!
On our way to dinner, we passed this beautiful building with flower boxes all the way up the side. They were in full bloom despite being fall.
Speaking of fall... outside the Louvre grounds, we passed neatly trimmed hedges of fall colors. I love when the leaves turn. The red, oranges, yellows and soft browns light up the foliage. This particular row of trees was predominantly yellow... stunning!
Walking toward our restaurant, we crossed over the Seine and approached Notre Dame from the other side. The grand lighting accentuated the intricate carvings in this incredible building. The spires, pillars roofline stood out as we walked along the Left Bank.
Turning onto a side street, we were surprised to find that the mood changed completely! It went from a quiet walk with mostly business people heading home from work, to a lively night life! The dark, shadowy buildings turned to colorful buildings and lights.
A delicious restaurant, the chef worked on his magic from the street. Le Bar a Huitres is a gem! For a seafood lover, this is a mush visit! The chef was a character. He entertained the passersby as he created his tasty meals.

As we left our dinner locale, we crossed the street to begin heading home. Back on the main street off the Seine, we noticed this restaurant. People waiting in line outside, laughter... music... this was a popular spot. I'll have to track it down to check it out next time.
