Jet lag is for amateurs...

Dublin to ?

Dublin to ?

After debating where to stay, we chose Outrigger Ohana East because of its central location. Waikiki is so walkable and the hotel is one I've stayed in often because they offer a kama'aina rate. We napped and got up in the afternoon to begin our "happy hour" crawl! Starting at Appetito Craft Pizza and Wine to use our mai tai voucher. They had the BEST meatballs on their menu! There are so many good deals in Waikiki for Happy Hour and some, like Maui Brewing Company, have a second HH at 10:30pm. (Link to Maui Brewing Co: https://mauibrewingco.com/ )

h. My. Gosh! We happened upon this restaurant, not far from the hotel and noticed a line outside. There's only one reason people would wait in line with all the options available... amazing food! Delicious HEALTHY food! I had the Organic Veggie and Beans Loco Moco. All I can say is WOW! And we went two days in a row! The line moves very quickly... worth the wait!

Day Two, the couple we cruise with arrived on Oahu. We immediately headed to Duke's for ... wait for it... Happy Hour! Oceanview, mai tais... perfect. After eating and cocktails, we walked down to the water. It was late afternoon so the beach crowd was thinning out. We had to get a photo with Diamond Head in the background! It was fun being back as an "adult" because it I can only remember one time going for Mother's Day with the girls, otherwise my trips were mostly with students or for my kid's state tournaments in various sports.

Up early, we walked 1.6 miles to Manuheali'i to check out the aloha wear... beautiful prints. Of course we had to buy a shirt and dress! We then walked a little under a mile to Ala Moana Center to look in the stores, followed by 1.3 miles to the Yard House for an ice cold beer. Thankfully, they had a Gluten-free beer for me called Omission. Nice beer, nice reward for getting out there and walking! A quick mile walk and we were back to our hotel. On the two nights are friends were there, we had a nice bottle of Belle Glos on their balcony at Hotel LeCroix. They had a double balcony so the breezes were perfect. We chose the side that overlooked the ocean... The next night we sat on our balcony and enjoyed a half bottle of Caymus and a tray of cheeses/olives. Surprisingly, we found VERY nice wines at a decent price in some of the ABC stores! Who knew? Definitely saved us a trip across the island in search of Napa wines!

More fun tomorrow...
