Jet lag is for amateurs...

Belize for a Quick Second...

Belize for a Quick Second...

Pretty much everyone that planned to go to shore had left the ship. We were enjoying the peace and quiet… but then it dawned on me… I needed to go on land for just a moment! My goal has been to replace all of the Christmas tree ornaments lost in Hurricane Harvey. Belize is on my list! So, we jumped on the tender and took the twenty minute ride to shore.

Slowly moving away from our “home” at sea, we enjoyed the salt air and gentle breeze. We hoped to break a record on land time! Just hop off the tender, run into the closest shop and back to the ship! Our friends did a fun excursion… we just had to recoup from too much work and too much snow!

First impression? Colorful! Having a colorful sunblock saved me! It was quite hot on shore… the pier was lined with shops. True to my goal, I ran into the closest store, found an ornament, paid for it and ran right back to the tender!

It is actually a pretty cute port town. Next time, when we are rested, this will definitely be on our “must explore” list. Colorful buildings… colorful boats, calm waters and very blue skies.

Slowly heading back to the Ruby Princess. As I said, we didn’t do an official excursion but the tender ride… twenty minutes each way, was kind of like taking a boat tour. With a little imagination… kind of a stretch but that’s what we did!

As you can tell, we picked up a bit of speed on our way back. Guests were told what time the last tender would return to the ship and it turned out, except for us, the majority of people waited until the last minute to return. This made us depart quite a bit late… not a problem.

Back onboard, we walked through the relatively empty ship. Heading upstairs to the Sky Lounge, we played a couple rounds of Five Crowns. We each won one, so the tie breaker would come later! (Probably I will be the ultimate winner haha)

It dawned on us that there was a hidden treasure aboard Princess Cruise ships… we went adventuring to visit the spot above the bridge. Our cabin was one floor beneath the bridge so we knew we wanted to take photos on the upper deck. This is one of my favorite perspectives!

Salty Dog Gastropub had room for two. There are a few things that fit with my crazy diet… dinner was relaxing and delicious. After, we went to the bar upstairs for a dessert drink, It was nice having the Princess Plus package. We could enjoy coffees and cocktails.

You know what the setting sun means… the end of another day. Another day down without seeing one show or doing anything productive. Being at sea made us realize how truly exhausted we have been! Trying to readjust to normal sleeping hours and getting a decent amount of sleep each night. It took more effort than expected…
