Jet lag is for amateurs...

Nothing like a relaxing sea day...

Nothing like a relaxing sea day...

As always, sleeping at sea is the best! The gentle rocking sends me into the deepest sleep. Last night was no exception. When the sun rose, I was up and heading for the Captain's Lounge for tea and the continental breakfast.

After breakfast... gym time! Ordinarily, we talk about the gym, maybe walk over to see where it's located, but never actually go. This trip,  we are determined to balance the nonstop food and drink with a little exercise! It's always nice working out with an ocean view!

The afternoon was spent reading. It was a tad bit windy, so we grabbed the soft blankets provided and sat in the wicker couches overlooking the ocean. I am thoroughly enjoying a book called, Secret Wife by Gill Paul. It's a well researched, creative love story set during World War 1. It's nice to escape and read for pleasure, rather than for information :-)

Captain's Club Happy Hour! Tonight, the bartenders decided I needed a change from the Cosmopolitans I've been drinking. So, they concocted this Blue Kamakazi. It was delicious! They take such good care of us. It's turning into my favorite time of day as we are able to make new friends. We've been talking to a very nice man who lives not far from us in Texas. Fortunately, John's home was not damaged in Hurricane Harvey.

For us, every night is "date night". Since Barry is away many nights flying and up until now, I have been living in Texas seasonally, we like to dress up and have date night throughout the entire cruise. This means we get 15 date nights this trip. Yay! (Barry hates to have his photo taken, he says it steals his soul... but he agrees to one every few days)

When Happy Hour ends, we sneak off to catch a little bit of the 7pm show. Tonight it is a song and dance routine. They did a nice job. The show is a little filler until our 8pm dinner time. Tonight we have a reservation in Tuscan Grille. Barry loves his Italian food!

Tignanello.JPG

Dinner was FANTASTIC! We had this amazing bottle of wine. Tignanello is a Super Tuscan, which is fast becoming my favorite! We started with delicious Parmesan bread and anti-pasta board. The cheeses, fig jam, olives, Prosciutto and other salami meats went perfectly with the wine. Salad for me, soup for Barry, Seafood for me, pasta for Barry. Darwin provided excellent service.

When we got back to our  cabin, we had a cute arrangement waiting for us. Unfortunately, I am allergic to roses so we had to leave them outside. We were able to enjoy the small, colorful vase of flowers without having to smell them! Another day comes to an end. Tomorrow... Panama Canal. Can't wait!
