Jet lag is for amateurs...

Cabo

Cabo

Being a tender port, we decided to wait until the lines went down before heading out. For the most part, I remain onboard at this type of port because I don’t like the whole tender thing. However, I LOVE Cabo so I decided to head into town. Before walking the pier around the marina, we stopped for a ship photo. Walking halfway around, we stopped at Solomon’s Landing for a delicious margarita! This location now takes the Princess medallion. The server scans the Medallion and it goes straight to the shipboard account. Pretty convenient!

Walking the streets of Cabo, we found interesting artwork. The statue on the left, if you look closely, is made with nuts and bolts, and pieces of tools. Very creative. There were several of these art pieces displayed on the street. After setting the self-timer, we sat in front of the Cabo sign. Although, we should have actually stood behind so we could see the four, colorful letters!

Laural wasn’t feeling well so she went back to the ship. Roxanne and I jumped on “Super Mario”, the little boat we use every time we are in town. We were driven across the marina and dropped off in the water right in front of The Office. It only costs $5 each way. We made plans to be picked up at 4:30 and they were right on time! Of course, they will be my go to next trip.

We had a nice breeze, the drinks tasted yummy! Though the music was a tad bit loud, it was so relaxing to hang out by the beach.

One last selfie under the colorful banners of “The Office”. This is a fun spot. Tables are set right into the sand on the shore.

In port until 10pm, we decided to take a break and hang out on the ship for a bit. Turtles were frolicking in the waters outside our balcony. Pretty cute!

For months, I planned to go into town for dinner. Lori and Jess weren’t back from the excursion and exploring. Roxanne changed her mind about going out. So, I jumped back on the tender and headed to shore. Originally, I was going to Salvadore G’s for dinner but they serve such large portions, I didn’t want to eat there alone.

All I wanted was some Mexican food… and being by myself, I stopped into the place that looked best for me. It was not my first time eating at Pancho’s. After checking out the menu, I ordered with my waiter. A few minutes passed, my margarita was delivered. Approaching me again, the waiter said, “um… you ordered a lot of food. Eight tacos and an enchilada plate.” Shocked, I explained that I was trying to create a combination plate and thought I was ordering a side taco. He asked me what I wanted exactly. He had the man behind the brick grill create a special plate with a taco, enchilada and tamale. It was perfect! Not sure how I didn’t notice I had ordered eight… eight! tacos!!!

With a full belly, I walked back down the marina. The evening was warm… I had a nice time. Coming up on the ship, I took so many pictures of the lights!

When I got back to the ship, I noticed that the fireworks had started. Not knowing how long they had already been lighting the sky, I stopped in my tracks and took photos. The show went on for quite a while. So festive!

On the last formal night of the cruise, we had our picture taken with Luna… she was the hostess in the steakhouse. Such a sweetheart! She took great care of us. Luna told me she was so excited to get her photo with “the five ladies” as we were known.

After dinner and photos, most of our group went to bed. Not Lori… she and I went up to the nightclub. We ended up shutting that place down. We had so much fun… it’s quite therapeutic to laugh with friends! As the clock shows, we were out until the wee hours…

Sailing back into the San Francisco Bay was stunning. I happened to wake up as we passed beneath the bridge. So beautiful.

… and now for the next edition of “Travel Nightmares”. As mentioned on our first day of the cruise, I had checked my car into a nearby parking lot, only to find out it wouldn’t be open on Saturday (the day we return). I was a bit concerned that the lot attendant would forget to bring the car up to the surface lot. Jessica walked with me to the parking lot. We were talking and not paying attention… almost got lost! We figured our way (it took two of us). Turning the corner, we were relieved to find the car! Reaching the car, I opened the app on my phone so I could use the remote open. Shocked, my car was not showing up! After looking through the app for a bit, I called Barry and asked him to open my doors on his starlink account. He was surprised to find my car information missing. Eventually, I realized that my three-year, free Starlink service had expired on October 17th. This was the three-year anniversary of purchasing the car. Barry got on the phone and set up to have the subscription continue. After quite a bit of time, the doors opened! Whew… hold on… we weren’t out of the woods yet. Pushing the button to start my car, I got the alert that a key wasn’t detected. Weird… Jess looked in the glove compartment, the spot our lot attendant told us he would put the key. We found a baggie and a note. It said that in order to lock the door, the battery had to be taken out of the key fob. Not thinking, I took both sides of the fob and put them back together. It still didn’t work… we then realized that the battery was taped to the back of the note. Now our issue was, we couldn’t get the fob apart to put the battery in. We watched YouTube videos… pulled on it… we really tried, but it was not opening for us. We really needed a screwdriver. Jess noticed that the Waymo lot across the way had an attendant. She walked across to ask if he had something to help us. He walked back with her, took out a keychain knife and worked on the fob. He got it! Jessica grabbed him and gave him a big kiss. He was slightly shocked! After an hour and a half, we were finally returning to the port to pick up Lori and Roxanne! Crisis averted… stressful but it worked out!
