Jet lag is for amateurs...

Six Sea Days...

Six Sea Days...

We took advantage of the discounted "First Night" specialty restaurant deal. What a great feast! The four of us headed to Chops Grille with our appetites ready! My mom was instantly addicted to Belle Glos Pinot Noir...

It's quite a rarity but we headed to a show after dinner. Usually, we enjoy leisurely dinners and wine, so the shows don't fit into our "busy" ship life schedule! From time to time we will make an exception for a comedian... which was the evening's performer! He was very funny… careful to include jokes Americans would "get" despite the audience being an Australian majority.

Waking up relatively early... I prepared French Press Coffee for us and for my parents two cabins away. We added a bit of Bailey's because... well... it's vacation! After finishing our "wake up juice" and showering, we headed to the Schooner Bar to take advantage of the floor to ceiling windows. It was time to play games! I brought "Five Crowns" and "Mexican Train".

As we sat around a table playing games, I happened to look up as a crew member walked by. After a double and a triple take, I told my husband, "I think that's Erwina!". He didn't think so but I was positive. We spent 16 days with Erwina on Ovation of the Seas from Barcelona to Dubai. She and her colleague, Nikola, prepared our wines daily... Once a game winner was crowned, we headed back to our cabins to get ready for the Diamond Lounge. As we walked past the Champagne Bar, Erwina saw us and very excitedly ran out from behind the bar! It WAS Erwina! Yay! Needless to say, she went down into the bowels of the ship to pull out special wines she knew we'd love...

Sunsets are the best thing about balconies... to enjoy my favorite time of day, in the middle of the Pacific is my happy place! Watching the colors turn from white, to orange to purple. Being completely disconnected from the world and completely connected to my husband is so rejuvenating! Once the last flicker of light had dimmed, we went to dinner and cocktails. Upon our return, this little towel friend was waiting... holding the remote control, knowing we would want to watch a little TV!
