Jet lag is for amateurs...

Back on Land...

Disembarking the ship in POURING rain… we headed to The Woodlands. Checking into Hilton Garden Inn, we figured it would be fun to be close to the Waterway… where all the nightlife takes place.

Out for a night on the town… Bar Louie for dinner, Goose Acres for drinks. The Woodlands Waterway is so festive during the holidays. Our dinner was simple but great. Delicious cocktails and off we strolled… down the street to the next location. Upon arrival at Goose Acre’s, I realized I did not have my ID and they were carding everyone. At first I was denied entry, but then one of the bouncers said he knew I was old enough (by many decades) so he let me in!

Great day for a football game! The Washington Redskins (or whatever they are called now) were in town to play the Houston Texans. We got seats along the rail of the upper deck. It wasn’t the best game I’ve ever seen… the Texans couldn’t move the ball AT ALL! However, I am always happy at a live game…

Sitting on the rail… up high… can be a challenge for those of us afraid of heights. As long as you focus on the food, the scoreboard, the crowd and the field… it’s all good! The Texans lost but it was still a fun day!

Never enough food! After nonstop eating on the ship… we had to make sure to have access to food as often as possible. Apparently, the snacky football stadium food wasn’t enough because we hurried to the local pub/restaurant called Three B’s. This place was destroyed in Hurricane Harvey but still fed local residents without kitchens. Rebuilt, we try to give them the business…

With my dietary restrictions, I usually order tacos when we go out. Tacos, tacos, tacos. Unfortunate considering the decadent items on this bar menu! Pictured above is baked macaroni and cheese on top of a burger. Biting into it allows the juicy, gooey cheese to drip out… rich, very rich but from what I’m told, it was incredibly delicious!!!

Bellies full… cocktails finished… a week’s worth of memories tucked away in our minds. It’s now time to head home for some much needed sleep!
