Anniversary with the Parentals

Anniversary with the Parentals

After sailing away from beautiful Bora Bora, we prepared for a bit of shipboard fun! First we went for cocktails in the Diamond Lounge. It’s always fun meeting new people… especially those with the common passion for cruising! We love sharing travel stories and on these longer cruises, usually end up with new “best friends”. After a couple cocktails, we headed to Izumi’s for sushi. Oh boy… was it delicious. The hubby doesn’t eat fish so he got the Hot Rock which is literally a hot slab of rock heated up so he could cook his own meat and vegetables. It’s extra entertainment. So… yes… all the sushi in the photo, I ate on my own. Don’t judge!

After dinner, we went to enjoy one of our bottles of wine with our wine tender friend… Erwina had already decanted our bottle and let it breathe while we played elsewhere on the ship.

First thing in the morning, we went downstairs for coffee in the espresso bar. Of course, we added our Baileys! Upon returning to our cabin, we found Erwina had sent us a decanted bottle of amazing Italian wine… and a plate of cheese and fruits. So sweet!!! So… the funny part about this is that the wine was delivered at noon and we had a wine dinner reserved for our evening… Which meant we were forced into some serious day drinking!!!

After working our way through the bottle and snacks… talking about all the places we’ve explored in our ten years of marriage… Hubby sat on the balcony with a cup of coffee. I sat on the pool deck with my book. Relaxing, relaxing, relaxing. Now to get ourselves together for dinner!

We had an impressive dinner with my parents and five other couples at the Chef’s Table. The Parentals loved the five course meal with wine pairings…especially the dessert! It was a chocolate globe… the servers poured a hot butterscotch sauce over it, which melted the chocolate and exposed ice cream inside. It was truly spectacular. We received an extra treat that I posted as the cover photo. When we returned to our cabin, we had a romantic towel design! Gosh I love cruising…

We went to be with very happy bellies… slept well and woke up to coffee and a relaxing day of games! Each day, Happy Hour seems to arrive before we know it! Once dressed (we always dress up), we headed to see Erwina… The photo on the right is from across the ship, looking at the bar with floor to ceiling windows. The picture on the right is toward the elevators. The Radiance of the Seas is just a beautiful ship!

Our next day at sea was rather… rockin’ and rollin’! We were on the tenth floor and the waves were crashing way above our deck. It was like this for a day and a half. I love it because the rocking makes me sleep like a baby. We spent most of our time reading and napping. Tomorrow… Wellington, New Zealand!
