Five Crowns at Sea!

MartiniBar.jpg

Last night after dinner, we joined Tom and Jess in the martini bar. I'm not sure how we've missed this since we boarded but I'm glad we found it now! This martini was delicious.. sweet but delicious!

MartiniEntertainment.jpg

Every evening at 10pm, the bartenders in the Martini bar put on a little show. They are wild! Trying to get the guests attention by calling out to them as they stroll by. They flip bottles, balance drinks on their heads and juggle full glasses of alcohol. All while telling jokes...

Tea.jpg

In my quest to limit my caffeine, tea has become part of my morning ritual. For days, I'd order a random tea only to remember I really wanted to try this one. Raspberry Nectar from Tea Forte... heaven on earth! I'm ordering it for home!

TomPlaying.jpg

We met in the Cafe in the morning. Tom and Jess found others sitting in their usual table for four. So we took up residence at a new table. We gathered enough chairs, had tea and coffee and with our competitive natures exposed, the game began! Funny side note on the seating... Jess approached the couple sitting at the table to possibly join them and the woman said, "Only if you don't talk or smoke"... smoking  wouldn't be an issue, but Tom and Jess not talk??? That's another story... :-)

JessPlaying.jpg

Quite the competitor... Jess started out beating the pants off us! I guess she caught on to the game. We laughed so much while playing. Can't wait to play again!

WallOfShame.jpg

Some didn't have very good luck... our rule for Five Crowns is that if you score over 300 in a game, you must have your picture taken with the "L" for loser and your photo is framed and put on the "Wall of Shame". We'll have to start a "Post Hurricane Harvey" wall when we get our walls finished.

For lunch, the "trough" as we call it, had a Seafood Extravaganza. They actually didn't have too many items to choose from. Barry will not touch seafood so I was thankful to have Jess as a lunch companion.

CellarMastersDinner.jpg

The event I look forward to on every cruise. This one has a twist. Ordinarily, we book the Chef's Table to enjoy wine and food pairings. The meal focuses on the Chef. Celebrity Cruises has Cellar Master's Dinner which focuses on the wine. Lovely wines are selected and the Chef creates amazing food as pairings.

Risotto.jpg

The Risotto was amazing. It's making my mouth water thinking about it...

Scallops.jpg

Scallops prepared the right way, are definitely on the top of my favorite seafood list. Of course, Barry doesn't agree. Thankfully, the Chef created alternatives for him since a couple of the courses consisted of seafood. Barry loved what he was served!

Pork.jpg

This pork was so tender! In my current scattered brain (I call it my Harvey brain because I've been forgetful since the trauma of the storm), I forgot to list down all the wines. I will post them at some point because I tried to get pics on the Vivino app to learn about the wines served.

Tenderloin.jpg

Unbelievable! Tender... seasoned to perfection. This Tenderloin Roast was the most incredible thing I tasted since arriving on the ship. Having five courses and six pairings prior, I was getting a bit full. There was no way I was leaving a speck of this on my plate!

Hats off to the Chef. He came out to introduce himself and explain how he made his selections. What a treat!
